Exposure therapy
Simulation for people with travel anxiety
A-UX exposure therapy gives people with disabilities or high levels of travel anxiety a chance to become familiar with an airport’s busy environment using an interactive desktop or Virtual Reality simulation. Using this tool before travelling can help them manage any fears or anxiety before they arrive at the airport.
As someone starts the A-UX simulation moving them through the airport, we can ‘dial down’ noise, lighting, and activity as they get accustomed to the space and airport processes. Slowly, they can then ‘dial up’ to experience the airport when it is busiest. These simulated scenarios help manage anxiety and support life skills learning. A-UX can be accessed through airport support programs, airline websites, and through the facilitation of disability service providers.
